Karen Tousignant – Publisher
Karen co-founded K2 Animal Health Publishing in 2005 after working for several years in medical publishing and sales. Karen holds an Honours Business Management Degree from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) as well as a sales certification from the Canadian Council of Pharmaceutical Education (CCPE).
Karen’s family includes a cool cat named Kiki. Recently, Karen lost her soul dog, Romeo, to cancer. An avid animal lover and advocate, Karen has volunteered with several rescue groups and dog search teams. Her other passion is travel, most recently visiting Portugal and Spain. Karen’s next place to visit will be Italy!
Jason Praskey – Art Director
An enthusiastic designer with a passion for animals, Jason has been working in the field of design and print for more than 20 years. Graduating from George Brown College with an advanced diploma in Graphic Design, he has worked with an impressive array of clients and companies, including several publications under Rogers Media.
As an animal lover and husband to a veterinarian, his home is often a haven for to-be adopted animals along with the resident dog, three cats, and two turtles.
An avid photographer, snowboarder, scuba diver, and sportsman, Jason likes to spend his off-time traveling and pursuing outdoor activities.
Shelagh Ross – Digital Services Manager
Shelagh has been involved with K2 Animal Health Publishing since 2011, as Managing Editor, and more recently Digital Services. She is also a freelance writer and is involved with several non-profit charities. She lives in Victoria, BC with her two active rescue dogs Annie and Miles.
Adam Nieuwenhuysen – Editorial Content Writer
A graduate of Algoma University (Law & Justice and Political Science), Adam’s undergraduate thesis–“Copyright Law and AI. Sufficient for an Artificially Intelligent Future?”—was recently published. Adam has performed editorial work and helped ESL students to learn English. Future include law school. In his spare time, Adam loves to write fiction, read, and draw. He also enjoys gaming and cycling.
